Atoa is a UK payment provider that helps businesses accept Pay by Bank and card payments on one platform.
Pay by Bank uses secure open banking technology, allowing customers to pay directly from their bank app. Funds typically settle instantly. Card payments (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, and Google Pay) are also supported, giving businesses flexible payment options across in-store, online, and remote payments.
Atoa is an FCA-authorised payment institution based in London and is rated “Excellent” on Trustpilot.
Pay by Bank allows customers to make payment via their UK Bank App or Internet Banking.
Instead of entering card details, customers:
- Scan a QR code or click a SMS/email payment link
- Select their bank
- Approve the payment securely in their banking app using Face ID or fingerprint scan
The money is sent directly from their bank to yours, often within seconds. No card details are shared, and no manual bank transfers are required.
- Pay by Bank – Funds are typically paid out instantly to your business bank account. Larger businesses can opt for end-of-day payouts, where transactions are consolidated into a single payout every 24 hours.
- Card payments – Card settlements depend on your existing price plan and payout structure with your current provider.
Yes. Atoa supports card payments (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay) alongside Pay by Bank.
Customers can choose to pay by card when using a payment link or online checkout. While Pay by Bank offers lower fees and instant settlement, card payments give customers flexibility where needed.
Both options are managed in one dashboard.
Our Pay by Bank rates are typically up to 50% lower than traditional card processing fees, helping businesses reduce payment costs.
Our card rates are also highly competitive. Pricing depends on your business type and monthly processing volume.
Atoa is designed for UK businesses, including:
- UK-registered limited companies processing £50,000 or more in monthly payments
- Registered UK charities (discounted rates available)
We do not currently support sole traders.
